GOOD INTENTIONS NOT ENOUGH

It was an opportunity for me to be N50,000 richer. That fateful evening, after winning some cheap games, I saw this 'aboki' gambler, who have never won as a table tennis gambler and then he just wanted to play with me as he was always losing to other guys present but it was my first time with him. Since I had known him to be a loser, I agreed to give him 5 points ahead, yet the game was 99% sure for me. I prayed to God before starting though I knew gambling wasn't so right then but I couldn't help my addiction. Hence, to back up my prayers, I told God in prayers my intention to not keep any of the money to myself than to pay a token debt of N5000 while I pay the rest to the church and helping some less privileged who were in need at the time.
However, in just about five minutes, I couldn't believe I had lost N50,000 after being defeated by this amateur. I couldn't just understand what happened - my good game, my prayers, my good intentions, everything just seemed to me like a dream as I walked home soberly with the thought of my N50,000 which was quite a huge sum of money back then. Just recently, I found out why it happened that way though I seem to have involved God in the game even from the start. Just two things....
1. GOD IS NEVER PLEASED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS IF IN NEGATION TO HIS COMMANDMENTS.2. GOD DOES NOT GRANT YOUR PRAYERS ACCORDING TO YOUR WANTS BUT ACCORDING TO HIS WILL.
Likewise today, there are many young so called christians who are addicted to gamble, lotto, Nairabet and other related betting platforms, and just like my old self, have some good intentions about their earnings and as well go to the extent of praying to God to help them win (though not all) - what an hellish display of ignorance. It is more a saddened story that barely would a religious gathering teach about this unpleasant situation which seem an imminent danger to the youths of today. God is never a supporter of betting/gamble/lotto. Hence, it doesn't matter how much you have won or may be winning, like the 'Baba Ijebu' saying goes in Yoruba, you'll surely going to DAPADA [RETURN IT] - TAKE IT NOW OR LEAVE IT.
If God helped me from my addiction to all sort of gambling, I strongly believe He can help anyone who is willing to be helped. For help tips, you can read my blog post titled "YOU COULD BE THE NEXT MILLIONAIRE!" and can also contact me directly on any of the platform below:

ARE WE SO MUCH LESS VALUABLE TODAY?

ARE WE SO MUCH LESS VALUABLE TODAY?
Our President is 73 years old, our Vice President is 59, at least ten of our Federal Ministers have clocked 60 already while I know of just 2 who are yet 50 years of age in the long list (though they are 49 already). Even for some time now, I have been thinking, why are these people not affected by the Nigerian Civil Service retirement age? If you ask me, in my opinion, I would say they also should be classified and regarded as other civil servants and should be retired just as other civil servants after 35 years of service or at the age of 60 years.
Every year, the population of the jobless youth across the nation keeps increasing and I get to wonder, are there no job opportunities anymore? The most recent experience is the 10,000 job openings in the Nigeria Police Force which already had more than 1,000,000 applicants to have registered; what a pitiable state. Majority of my friends who have finished their National Youth Service are still jobless after a year, while the few working are either employed as teachers in local schools or in substandard less reputable organizations except for very few who have translated their skills into their professions. You can imagine university graduates being paid N30,000 monthly as salary - God have mercy.
How then can there be openings for the ever increasing youths when the oldies are refusing to leave their offices even after clocking retirement age? What do we expect when those who are due for retirement are still applying to be contract staffs and are being retained in the name of 'experience'? What then is our hope as youths when even the Youths minister is over 50 years of age; when a governor in 2013, without any ignominious feeling could publicly voice out to the media: "we should find a way to retain those who are 60-65 years of age, up to 70 years unless they retire voluntarily". (I wonder the state of the youths in the state he governs). The Nigeria we learnt about from history of about 50 years ago was one governed by youths, one where you would hardly find a 50 year old in power, that is the Nigeria I long to see again. If people could believe in our dear President, Mohammadu Buhari to be a State Governor at the age of 34 and be the Head of State at 41 years, why would himself and many other influential figures not believe in capabilities of the youths of today? Are there no longer youths with vigour and wisdom like Joseph, David and Daniel who had an excellent spirit with proofs in governance? I so much believe there are more than enough, they are just not given the platform to manifest as it was in the past. ARE WE SO MUCH LESS VALUABLE TODAY?

SLAVE MASTERS ARE BACK IN TOWN

DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU WANT OTHERS TO DO TO YOU, IRRESPECTIVE OF AGE, CLASS, TRIBE AND/OR RELIGION.

There are too many 'slave masters' in disguise; this I see almost everywhere, especially in my nation Nigeria. I have seen many people maltreat people they call "housemaids" just as if they are dealing with animals. I have seen people who employ people to work with them, and 'use' them as if they are paying them their life wages.
The worse part about these people is that majority of them are very religious; you see them in the churches, you see them in the mosques. They are even the respected ones in our worship centres, 'cos they have the cash and influence. I get irritated at the sight and hearing of these actions by these people whom I call 'SLAVE MASTERS IN DISGUISE', they sometimes seem to be inhuman. They would never try to help a burdened maid, they feel they are getting paid or they bought them already. They do not care about their health system or general wellbeing; as long as they in particular are ok, then every other thing is assumed ok... SELFISH PEOPLE.
Lets take a cue from the one who bought us all with a price, yet, never treated us as a slave, our LORD and MASTER, JESUS CHRIST. He willingly offered to bear our burden when were heavily laden to relieve us of the burdens; He even went so low to wash the feet of his employees, he prepared food for them when they were exhausted from all-night hard labour of trial with nothing caught and many more; no wonder He told us to learn from Him.
If we were bought as a master would buy a slave, but are never treated as a slave, why then a human treat a fellow human as servants. Employers, don't let people work for you, let them work with you; House masters, don't use people for your tasks, make the people your ultimate tasks... It's called TRUE & SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP... Remember, no one is a product of his wish or works, we are all a product of God's mercy.

WHY MANY PRAYERS SEEM UNANSWERED

In my few years as a christian and a church goer, I have been a regular worshipper in at least a dozen of churches, and in all, there hasn't been any, where I have worshipped for anything less than three months. However, according to my personality, being a good observer, I have found out something interesting about PRAYERS in all of these place of worships.

Why do you think some so called rich men select their place of worship, especially when they become rich? Why do you think there are more members with less shouts in prayer in many structured churches while those in small under-developed and developing churches make more noise in prayers, even with lesser members? One of those reasons is not far fetched and I have discovered a common reason why it is so in many congregations.

I have been to some place of worships whereby, everytime they pray, except for prayer of forgiveness, they are always shouting and wailing, almost tearing themselves like the Baal's prophets did when they faced Elijah on Mount Carmel; yet there's little transformation afterwards.
So also, I have been to some place of worships, and when they pray, they barely shout but are neither silent, they raise their voices and cry aloud to God only when it is most necessary; yet there are always proofs to show after their prayers.
I looked to see, a vital factor that makes the difference, behold, I see UNDERSTANDING. While some pray with good understanding of how God works while majority who claim to be Christians today, like the Baal's prophets, have no understanding about God nor how He works, hence they keep wailing and shouting and it seems God is not answering or too far to hear them...

In all thy getting, get UNDERSTANDING.
