LESSON FROM THE RICH

CHOOSE YOUR CHOICE... TO SHINE ON OR TO SHOW OFF

Yesterday, the facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg landed in Lagos, Nigeria and just a while ago, a friend on instagram posted this picture. I looked and saw that the over $50million young man (according to Forbes) wasn't wearing a gold chain, not even one karat; he wasn't even wearing a Rolex or even leather watch neither was he having any wristband to give his hand a fitting, he was not on a "packing shirt" nor that kind of "cut and sow" trousers, he didn't even choose a blazer suit but just a jean trouser and a polo which many of my friends would wear as an underwear...
I know he has always been in such attire on many occasions, however, I am always impressed with such simplicity of life. In my most recent evaluation, I discovered the CEO is not always the best dressed and the richest people do not own the most expensive things... These people have just learnt something: The higher you go, the more likely you are to fall, hence, live in simplicity no matter the heights attained.
Don't complicate your life by faking it, those who fake it never make it.

THIS IS HOW MANY MINISTERS ARE MISSING IT

I have been frequently hearing statements such as "my church", "my members", "our church" and other related terms. My question then is, 'Do pastors really have a church of their own?'

This is becoming a common trend in many of today's churches and I'm no longer liking it. I hear it so often and I wonder if that's how it should be. I searched through the scriptures and I could only find a place where someone showed possession of the church by saying "my church" - Matthew 16:18, that being Jesus Christ. It is in this wise, in my little understanding, that I think no authority is right in claiming a gathering of people as his/her own; that seems to me as a misplace of priority.
Even from the ancient testament, through Moses,  a leader with an enviable leadership skill, though the shepherd of God's flock, couldn't claim they were his people even after God fully committed the people to him... Exodus 32 : 11 "But Moses implored the LORD his God and said, O LORD, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?" [Also see Exo. 34:10] This is true understanding of what is called Spiritual Leadership - knowing you have no people of your own but of God though you are called to be the overseer.
Across the scripture, every other references to the church by God's own people are noted as "the church" and this continued to the time of the generals of our time whom the Lord used to propagate His church reflecting in the different names of the church such as CHERUBIM & SERAPHIM CHURCH OF GOD; CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH; CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST, THE REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD and many others. Why then should ministers of these same church claim ownership of the people and preach it? Are the people God's people or your people?
If we all truly belong to the same church of the Lord, let us only propagate His church and not "our church"...

IT'S A NORMAL THING...

Someone once told me, "I can take all things but will never take it lightly nor let go of anyone for slapping my wife". As I tried to reason along, I asked him; what would you do in such situation if it happened? He answered, "then one of us is likely to go (die) that day?"

Whether it is you who was slapped, or your wife/husband or your mum or anybody dearest to you, could retaliation or fighting back really have been the right and best option at such a time? Oh... You're probably thinking, 'I would get him arrested'... And you think he's gonna just wait and let you call the cops and wait for their arrival? Of course NOT. C'mon... Do you really think the person who slaps you or any other person just like that is normal or in his/her right senses or state of mind? Oh No, definitely not! Such a person is being controlled against his true person.
Now get it; Silence doesn't mean folly, patience doesn't mean stupidity; the true test of strength is defined by those two virtues. Whenever you get angry, it only shows how much you circumstances and emotions control you and not you over them. You have power of your emotions, you have a choice to make in every circumstance; to be stupid or to be wise; choose wisely. The scripture so true and complete... "You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you, don’t fight back against someone who wants to do harm to you. If they hit you on the right cheek, let them hit the other cheek too."
ANGER IS NOT A NORMAL THING, BEWARE!

SCHOOL OF THOUGHT PT. 2

1. What is the 'different' between this and that? ~ DIFFERENCE

2. I can't 'avoid' to pay up to that 'cos I don't have such money ~ AFFORD

3. You better exercise 'patient' in this matter ~ PATIENCE

Everyday I hear and see these and many other common grammatical blunders in the society and on different social medias by many young students and even graduates. Important to note that even school teachers and lecturers are not exempted from these errors. What then do we expect from the present day students and graduates?

Could it have been a background or location problem as many claim? No, I think it is a personal problem. Most schools only teach what is needed to excel in school, but you have to teach yourself what is needed to excel in life. A school may succeed in training you to read and write but you must train yourself to becoming a good and better writer and reader. Benjamin Franklin, Michael Faraday, Nike Davies-Okundaye and many others had very little formal education but are teachers to thousands and millions. In fact, my recent study proves to me that majority of today's great speakers and writers were at a time poor students without the privilege of good schools.

A good tested and trusted means of self-development is being a voracious reader and listener of good materials. YOU CAN BE THE NEXT BIG NAME!
