1. What is the 'different' between this and that? ~ DIFFERENCE
2. I can't 'avoid' to pay up to that 'cos I don't have such money ~ AFFORD
3. You better exercise 'patient' in this matter ~ PATIENCE
Everyday I hear and see these and many other common grammatical blunders in the society and on different social medias by many young students and even graduates. Important to note that even school teachers and lecturers are not exempted from these errors. What then do we expect from the present day students and graduates?
Could it have been a background or location problem as many claim? No, I think it is a personal problem. Most schools only teach what is needed to excel in school, but you have to teach yourself what is needed to excel in life. A school may succeed in training you to read and write but you must train yourself to becoming a good and better writer and reader. Benjamin Franklin, Michael Faraday, Nike Davies-Okundaye and many others had very little formal education but are teachers to thousands and millions. In fact, my recent study proves to me that majority of today's great speakers and writers were at a time poor students without the privilege of good schools.
A good tested and trusted means of self-development is being a voracious reader and listener of good materials. YOU CAN BE THE NEXT BIG NAME!
