BY THIS TIME TOMORROW

I was the one who read it out to the church loudly, as our guest minister Pastor Timi Osikoya (now Orokoya), the iconic TELEMI gospel singer declared prophetically from the scripture as to the economy of Samaria, in reference to the Nigeria economy, "BY THIS TIME TOMORROW, A DOLLAR SHALL BE EQUAL TO A NAIRA" but I noticed the Amen sounded feverish so to say.

Then I looked at it critically; Would a Nigerian living and working oversea; in the United States, Europe or even South Africa pray or wish that a Dollar equals to a Naira? Even though many have decided to make the foreign land their permanent resident as almost all strive for citizenship in these countries, they still have some commitments they respond to down in Nigeria, hence, majority wouldn't pray or say amen to such prayer. Yet, they all seem to act as concerned citizens of Nigeria wherever they are.

Today, the country is singing the change anthem but the airports have not been anyway less full as many claim to be seeking greener pastures (though I'm yet to see a national flag with green dominance as the Nigerian flag), then I asked myself, what do we really want, CHANGE IN GOVERNMENT OR A BETTER NIGERIA?

Nonetheless, I know Nigeria will be better as much as I know my name.
